What is a personal finance MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard that lets AI assistants access external data sources. Warm's personal finance MCP server gives Claude and other AI assistants secure, read-only access to your accounts, transactions, and financial state—so you can ask questions in natural language and get answers based on your real data.
What financial data can Claude access?
Claude can access your account balances, transaction history (amounts, merchants, categories, dates), recurring payments/subscriptions, snapshots, budgets, goals, and financial health. It cannot access AI chat history or make any changes to your data.
How do I install the Warm MCP server?
Run "npx @warmio/mcp" and follow the prompts. The installer auto-configures Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Desktop, OpenCode, Codex CLI, Antigravity, and Gemini CLI. You'll need an API key from Settings → API Keys in your Warm account.
Is my financial data safe?
Yes. The MCP server only has read-only access—it cannot modify your data, make transactions, or change settings. Your API key is scoped to your accounts only, and you can revoke access instantly by deleting the key in Settings.

The Warm MCP server works with 8 clients: Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Desktop, OpenCode, Codex CLI, Antigravity, and Gemini CLI. Any MCP-compatible client can connect using your API key.
