How does Plaid work?
Plaid is a secure service that connects your bank accounts to apps like Warm. When you connect an account, you log in directly with your bank through Plaid's secure window. Plaid then provides us with a token that lets us read your transaction data. Your login credentials never pass through our servers.
Can Warm move my money?
No. We only have read-only access to your accounts. We can view your balances and transactions, but we cannot move money, initiate transfers, or make any changes to your accounts.
What if my bank isn't supported?
Plaid supports over 12,000 financial institutions in the US and Canada, including all major banks and most credit unions. If your bank isn't supported, you can still import transactions using CSV or OFX files - available on all plans including Free.
How often do accounts sync?
We automatically sync your accounts every few hours to keep your data fresh. You can also manually refresh any account anytime from your dashboard.
What happens if I need to reconnect an account?
Sometimes banks require you to re-authenticate for security reasons (like after changing your password). If this happens, we'll notify you and guide you through a quick reconnection process. Your historical data is never lost.
Can I disconnect accounts later?
Absolutely. You can disconnect any account at any time from your settings. When you disconnect, we stop syncing new transactions, but your historical data remains available unless you choose to delete it.
What if I'm on the Free plan?
Free tier users can import transactions using CSV or OFX files exported from their bank. This works with any financial institution and lets you import years of historical data. When you upgrade to Plus or Pro, you can connect accounts for automatic syncing.
