Warm FAQ Answers Before You Start

Quick answers about bank connections, security, plans, MCP access, and support.

Getting Started

How do I connect my bank accounts?

After signing up, click "Add Account" on the Accounts page. We use Plaid to securely connect to thousands of banks and credit unions. Search for your bank, log in with your banking credentials (sent directly to your bank, not us), and select which accounts to connect.

What plans do you offer?

Both plans include the same core Warm features: dashboard, budgets, imports, subscription tools, support, insights, MCP, and API access. Plus starts at $8.25/mo equivalent (Billed $99 yearly) with up to 5 synced accounts. Pro starts at $16.58/mo equivalent (Billed $199 yearly) with up to 30 synced accounts.

How can I start using Warm without bank sync?

Plus and Pro both include CSV and OFX import, so you can bring in transaction history and use Warm without connecting a bank right away. That gives you categorization, spending reports, and budgeting tools without bank sync.

How long does it take to sync my transactions?

Initial sync timing depends on your bank and Plaid. Warm imports the transaction history your institution makes available and categorizes transactions automatically. After that, new transactions sync as Plaid and your bank make them available.

Which banks do you support?

Plaid currently connects to more than 12,000 financial institutions. Availability varies by institution, account type, and region, so search for your institution during the connection flow. You can use supported CSV or OFX imports when a connection is unavailable.

Do I need a credit card to start?

Warm currently offers paid Plus and Pro plans, so you will enter payment details when you subscribe. Both plans include the same Warm features. Plus includes up to 5 synced accounts. Pro includes up to 30 synced accounts.

Security & Privacy

Is my financial data secure?

Warm uses encryption in transit and at rest. Plaid and your financial institution handle bank authentication, so Warm does not receive or store your bank login credentials. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Can you access my bank account or move money?

Warm uses read-only connected-account data for balances and transactions. Warm does not request or expose permissions to initiate transfers, make payments, or change your bank accounts.

Do you sell my data?

Absolutely not. Your financial data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose other than providing you with the Warm service. Your privacy is fundamental to everything we do.

How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Settings and choose 'Delete Account'. You can also disconnect individual accounts at any time. Warm removes personal information as described in the Privacy Policy; some anonymized data may be retained.

What if Warm gets hacked?

Warm limits risk by not storing bank credentials and by using read-only connected-account permissions that cannot move money. We also encrypt data in transit and at rest. No system is immune to security incidents, so we do not claim that a breach would have no impact.

MCP Access

Is MCP required?

No, it's completely opt-in. You can use all of Warm without connecting an external MCP client.

What can MCP clients see and do?

They can read your accounts, transactions, balances, and financial-state summaries through scoped MCP tools. Access is read-only, so clients cannot move money, edit records, or change settings.

Is my data used for training?

No. Warm does not use your financial data for model training, and MCP access is scoped to your own API key.

Features & Functionality

How does automatic categorization work?

Connected transactions use the category data supplied through Plaid, and you can recategorize transactions manually when needed.

How does tag-based organization work?

Warm stores tags on transactions and supports merchant-based tag rules. The current product does not promise a user-facing global rename or merge workflow.

How does recurring transaction detection work?

We automatically identify subscriptions and recurring charges by analyzing your transaction patterns. You'll see all your recurring expenses in one place, including the total monthly cost and when each payment is expected.

Billing & Plans

Can I switch plans?

You can manage or change your subscription from the Billing page. Web subscriptions are managed through Stripe, and App Store subscriptions through Apple. View pricing

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe. Your payment information is securely processed and never stored on our servers.

Can I cancel anytime?

You can manage cancellation from the Billing page. Stripe and Apple subscriptions follow the terms shown in their respective billing flows.

How does billing work if I cancel?

Use the Billing page to open the appropriate subscription-management flow. The effective date and any billing details are shown by Stripe or Apple before you confirm.

Troubleshooting

Why is my bank connection broken?

Bank connections can break for several reasons: your bank password changed, your bank requires re-authentication, or there's a temporary issue with your bank's systems. Go to Accounts and click 'Reconnect' to fix it.

Why are some transactions missing?

Pending transactions may not appear until they're posted by your bank. Some banks also have a delay in reporting transactions to Plaid. If transactions are consistently missing, try disconnecting and reconnecting your account.

How do I contact support?

You can reach us at support@warm.io. Plus and Pro subscribers get email support at support@warm.io.
