Getting Started

How do I connect my bank accounts?

After signing up, click "Add Account" on the Accounts page. We use Plaid to securely connect to over 12,000 banks and credit unions. Search for your bank, log in with your banking credentials (sent directly to your bank, not us), and select which accounts to connect.

What plans do you offer?

We offer three plans: Free for CSV import, Plus ($5.99/month) for bank sync with up to 3 accounts, and Pro ($24.99/month) for full financial insights with up to 30 accounts.

What's included in the free tier?

The free tier lets you import transactions via CSV files to track your spending and get a clear picture of your finances. You'll get automatic categorization, spending insights, and budgeting tools—all without connecting a bank. It's perfect for trying Warm or for manual transaction tracking.

How long does it take to sync my transactions?

Initial sync usually takes less than a minute. We'll pull your recent transaction history (typically 2-3 months) and categorize everything automatically. After that, new transactions sync throughout the day.

Which banks do you support?

We support over 12,000 financial institutions in the US and Canada through Plaid, including all major banks (Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi, etc.), credit unions, and investment brokerages.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No credit card required! Our free tier is completely free forever. You can import transactions, track spending, and use budgeting tools without ever entering payment information. Upgrade only if you want additional features like bank syncing or advanced analytics.

Security & Privacy

Is my financial data secure?

Yes. We use bank-level 256-bit encryption for all data. We connect to your bank through Plaid, the same technology used by Venmo, Robinhood, and thousands of other apps. We never see or store your bank login credentials.

Can you access my bank account or move money?

No, never. We have read-only access to view your transactions and balances. We cannot initiate transfers, make payments, or take any actions on your accounts. It's technically impossible.

Do you sell my data?

Absolutely not. Your financial data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose other than providing you with the Warm service. Your privacy is fundamental to everything we do.

How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Settings and click 'Delete Account'. This immediately disconnects all bank connections and permanently deletes your data from our servers. You can also disconnect individual accounts at any time.

What if Warm gets hacked?

Your money stays safe. We don't store bank credentials, we have read-only access (can't move money), and transaction data isn't linked to identifying information. Even in a worst-case breach, there's nothing for attackers to exploit: no passwords to steal, no accounts to access.

AI Assistant

Is the AI feature required?

No, it's completely opt-in. You can use all of Warm without ever touching the AI assistant.

What can the AI see and do?

It can see your transactions, balances, and spending patterns: the same data in your dashboard. It can answer questions and spot trends, but it can't take any actions. Think of it like a speedometer: it tells you how fast you're going, but it can't press the gas. It doesn't even know who's driving.

Is my data used for AI training?

No. Your conversations are stored only for your chat history. We never use your financial data or conversations to train AI models.

Features & Functionality

How does automatic categorization work?

We use Plaid's transaction enrichment combined with our own rules to automatically categorize your transactions. Most transactions are categorized instantly. You can always recategorize manually, and we'll learn from your preferences.

How does tag-based organization work?

Yes! Plus and Pro plans include unlimited smart transaction tags. Create tags that match how you think about your spending, and set up merchant-based rules to automatically apply tags. When you rename or merge tags, changes apply to all past and future transactions globally.

What is the Financial Health Score?

Our Financial Health Score gives you a personalized score based on factors like your savings rate, debt-to-income ratio, emergency fund coverage, and spending patterns. It helps you understand your overall financial wellness at a glance and is available on all plans.

How does recurring transaction detection work?

We automatically identify subscriptions and recurring charges by analyzing your transaction patterns. You'll see all your recurring expenses in one place, including the total monthly cost and when each payment is expected.

Billing & Plans

Can I switch plans?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time. When you upgrade, you get immediate access to new features. When you downgrade, you'll keep access until your current billing period ends. View pricing

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe. Your payment information is securely processed and never stored on our servers.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page. You'll continue to have access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.

Do you offer refunds?

If you're not satisfied within the first 14 days of a new subscription, contact us for a full refund. After 14 days, we don't offer refunds, but you can cancel anytime to prevent future charges.

Troubleshooting

Why is my bank connection broken?

Bank connections can break for several reasons: your bank password changed, your bank requires re-authentication, or there's a temporary issue with your bank's systems. Go to Accounts and click 'Reconnect' to fix it.

Why are some transactions missing?

Pending transactions may not appear until they're posted by your bank. Some banks also have a delay in reporting transactions to Plaid. If transactions are consistently missing, try disconnecting and reconnecting your account.
