How it works
1. You ask a question
When you type a question in the AI chat, your request is authenticated using your session token. This ensures only you can access your data.
2. We build context
We gather your financial data—account balances, transactions, budgets—but strip out any personal identifying information before sending it to the AI.
3. AI generates a response
The AI provider receives anonymous financial context and your question. They generate a helpful response without ever knowing who you are.
4. You get insights
The response is returned to you with actionable insights about your finances. The AI can explain patterns and answer questions, but it cannot take any actions on your behalf.
Common Questions
What data does the AI receive when I ask a question?
The AI receives your account balances, the last 4 digits of account numbers (to distinguish between accounts), transaction details (amounts, merchants, categories), spending patterns, and any budgets or goals you've set. It does not receive your name, email, bank credentials, or full account numbers.
Can the AI take actions on my accounts?
No. The AI has strictly read-only access. It can analyze your data and provide insights, but it cannot initiate transfers, make payments, or modify anything in your accounts or within Warm.
Who processes the AI requests?
We use industry-leading AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) to generate responses. They receive your financial context but no personal identifying information like your name or email.
Are my AI conversations stored?
Yes, conversations are stored so you can reference them later. They're encrypted and tied to your account. You can delete any conversation at any time from the AI chat interface.
What if Warm gets hacked?
Even in a breach scenario, your AI conversations contain no personal identifying information. An attacker would see financial patterns but couldn't connect them to a real person. There are no passwords or credentials to exploit.
