Review your monthly spending with Warm MCP
See where your spending changed, then look at the purchases behind it. You don’t need to build a spreadsheet first.
Pick two complete months.
Connect Warm to your AI. Use months with data for the same accounts so you’re comparing like with like. The prompt below uses July and August 2026; swap in your own dates.
Copy this prompt.
Use get_financial_context to check which transaction months are available. If July and August 2026 are both available, fetch each with get_transactions. Compare spending by category for the same accounts. Keep currencies separate, exclude transfers and credit-card payments that would count purchases twice, and show refunds separately. Flag missing or duplicate data. Check that the category totals add up, and show the purchases behind the biggest changes. Don’t change any records.
For a full month, your AI should request a month such as 2026-08. The latest option covers only ten days. A missing month means missing data, not zero spending.
Check the numbers together.
Here’s a made-up example in USD, with complete months, transfers excluded, and no refunds:
| Category | July | August | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Groceries | $400 | $460 | +$60 |
| Dining | $200 | $150 | −$50 |
| Transport | $100 | $140 | +$40 |
| Total | $700 | $750 | +$50 |
Spending rose by $50, or about 7.1% ($50 ÷ $700). The category changes add up too: $60 − $50 + $40 = $50.
Ask which purchases explain each change. A larger grocery bill might reflect guests or a stock-up trip; the numbers alone won’t tell you why. Check unfamiliar charges and any gaps before drawing conclusions.
