Common questions
Everything you need to know about Moltbot + Warm.
What is Moltbot (Clawdbot)?
Moltbot (formerly Clawdbot) is an open-source personal AI assistant created by Peter Steinberger. It runs on your computer and connects to messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Slack, letting you control your machine and access data through natural language.
How do I connect Moltbot to my bank accounts?
Sign up for Warm Pro, connect your banks via Plaid, generate an API key in Settings, then run "npx @warmio/mcp" to configure Moltbot. You can then message Moltbot to query your financial data.
Is it safe to give Moltbot access to my finances?
Yes. The Warm MCP server is strictly read-only—Moltbot cannot modify, transfer, or delete any data. Moltbot runs locally on your machine, so your data never leaves your control. You can revoke API access instantly.
What messaging apps work with Moltbot?
Moltbot supports WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, iMessage, and Signal. Message from any of these apps to query your financial data in natural language.
Does this work with Clawdbot or only Moltbot?
They are the same project. Clawdbot was renamed to Moltbot due to trademark concerns. The Warm MCP server works with both names since it is the same underlying software.
What financial data can Moltbot access?
Moltbot can query account balances, transaction history, recurring payments/subscriptions, and net worth snapshots. Budgets, goals, and AI chat history are app-only and not exposed via MCP.
How much does this cost?
Warm Pro costs $24.99/mo and includes MCP/API access, up to 30 connected accounts, and all Pro features. Moltbot itself is free and open-source.
Can I use other AI coding tools too?
Yes. The Warm MCP server also works with Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, and other MCP-compatible clients. One install configures all of them.
